Ipswich, July 2nd

Early morning from the Salem-Beverly Bridge
We had another spectacular day for Saturday's ride to Ipswich! How lucky are we? Donna, Tam and Chip rode out of Salem at 7 a.m., meeting Gail, Joan, Paul and Kathy at our remote start location on Dodge Street in North Beverly. (Not far from The Depot Diner.) It's always great when a plan comes together! We rode the backroads to Ipswich for an enjoyable ride.

Chip greets Sheldon, who met us in Ipswich
Arriving in downtown Ipswich we discovered Sheldon waiting for us outside The Five Corners Cafe! Yay! We rearranged a few tables and enjoyed a nice breakfast together. (Although the verdict on the food was mixed.) It's been fun having such a great turnout the last few weeks.

Gail and Joan, At Larch Row and Dodge
Heading home, we returned to Larch Row and Dodge where Gail, Joan, and Paul were parked. Kathy and Donna turned off on Route 22, but Tam and Chip eventually caught up to them in Beverly and finished at the Roger Conant statue with Donna. For the folks riding from Beverly, it was a 20 mile ride, for the Salem crew (who all originated in Swampscott) it was closer to 37. A great ride!

(Side note: Chip enjoyed riding with the gang, but has loaned his bike to family visiting from Norway. He hopes to rejoin the Cyclopaths by the end of the month. Thank you for welcoming him! He hopes to find a better omelet on his next ride.)

Next week: ?? A return to Boxford has been suggested, next in the rotation. Will Ed be joining us?

Nice to have The Queen back with the pack
On the road!
