Somber Thoughts

Mike and his dad at the PMC Finish.
It's not comforting to know how close Michael K. was to the bomb blast. (Bomb blasts kill at least three, leave scores injured, Washington Post). Michael was closing in on the finish and was less than 50 yards from the first explosion, and closer on the second. (He's quoted in the article.) We're truly thankful our beloved friends are safe -- and our prayers continue for those suffering.

Processing all that occurred on Monday. It began as a wonderful, fun, gorgeous day. Queen Kathy, Meg and I handed out medals to marathon finishers until 2:50 pm. We heard and felt the blasts. We did not see the wounded. The world stood still. Chaos ensued. Thankfully we remained safe. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and friends. BostonStrong.
