Weekend Weather Ahead

It's looking like rain for tomorrow's post-PMC breakfast ride. (And Bill's 89th birthday!) From the National Weather Service: Showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms in the morning...then showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Areas of fog in the morning. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall in the morning. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds and heavy rainfall. Humid with highs in the mid 80s. Chance of rain 70 percent. Hmmmm....

Sorry gang. I get the weather from the National Weather Service and when I went to bed last night, they were still calling RAIN. Woke up at 7 and saw the sun shining. Arghhh!!! So frustrating! I wanted to ride, too!

Hope those who ignored the forecast and saw the dry roads had a good ride today.

There were 4 of us- P.Giddy, Arlene, Birthday-Lucy, and Me-Donna. Had a very nice ride on the back roads to and thru Bradley Palmer State Park. Lucy found a dollar on the ground. Then she got a flat tire. We stopped to fix Lucy's flat. Made our way back and ate at The Beverly Airport.
After breakfast Mike Bencal was driving down The Airport Road. It was nice to see him. We chatted for a bit.

I was thinking for those driving we can park at Salem State. The big parking lot at the O'Keef Center/Sports Complex/Ice Rink. Across the street from Bagel World. It is a short flat ride to our starting point.

Sounds like a decent ride. Sorry I missed it. I had every intention of riding, but never set my alarm, expecting rain. Thought of trying to catch up with folks but then just let it go. I hate it when the weather forecast is wrong. In this day and age how can the forecasters be so grossly inept? I can probably get a better forecast from the Farmer's Almanac.

O'Keefe Center is a good idea. Will and I have been parking at the old McDonalds on the Beverly side of the bridge, and then riding from there to the Washington St start. So we're still crossing the bridge twice, but avoiding the traffic in Salem late in the morning. It's been nice.
