Stone Soup (and a Trip to the ER)

We had a terrific day for a ride Saturday. 10 Cyclopaths plus friend, Joe, joining us for the first time. Steve-Bob and Drew lead us up back roads from Larch Row through Beverly, Hamilton and Wenham to Ipswich. It was a fantastic route! In Ipswich, Ethan headed back for his Marblehead Cycle gig while Jeff and Joe ventured on for more miles. The rest of the gang headed to breakfast at Stone Soup, delicious as always. (Arlene got a single pancake and sat next to me. See... my memory is coming back!)

After breakfast, Arlene and Steve Bob continued up to Rowley while Drew, Gail, Will, Donna and I took the Mill Road route out of Ipswich through Wenham (beautiful!), with the group separating in Beverly. Near the Cummings Center, (I remember the fountain!), I motioned for Will to get between me and Donna. Last thing I remember is my wheel scraping the curb and my head slamming the pavement. I also remember an ambulance... and wondering where Steve Bob came from... and Donna giving me a hot blanket in the ER... Fortunately, Will filled me in on the rest... and Arlene took pictures! (THAT just makes me smile.)

Except for the concussion, memory loss, bruises, some pavement burn and a broken hand, it was a pretty awesome ride and a glorious summer day! --Tam

OMG Tam, I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. I'm glad that you are on your way to mending, and that you are okay!

How long will it take for your hand to heal?

Not sure, Lynda. Will know more tomorrow after visit with orthopedic doctor. Still recovering from concussion. Can't follow conversations very well. Headaches. nausea.. etc. May take a week to clear.

Thanks, everyone, for the emails, calls, etc... Thanks, Arlene, for the pretty flowers. Will tells me I couldn't remember riding with you yesterday. I do remember eating breakfast with you. So freaky how the brain works. Thank you, Donna, for coming to the ER. That was comforting. Hope to be back on the bike soon. Will know more tomorrow.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Tammy!

OMG. I'm so sorry. I did not get Donna's call and I did not listen to my voicemail all weekend. I traded messages with her then went to work at the bike shop.

The important thing now is to rest and heal. If you want any help getting your bike fixed, getting a new helmet or just venting, let me know.

Heal quickly.

CCM, If you were with us that weekend, no doubt you would have pulled something out of your MacGyver backpack to make it all better. You are missed.
