20th Annual Cohen Classic, July 21st (Updated 7/17)

It's that time of year again... The 20th Annual Tri/Bi-State Cohen Classic is next weekend! Donna has a new route planned this year, taking the Portsmouth Bridge closure into consideration. Our start location will be at the North Hampton Elementary School, at 5:45 a.m., where we've gathered for the last 2 years. From there we will make a southerly loop down to Hampton Beach (12 mile loop) before heading north to Cafe Espresso in Portsmouth (14 miles).

There is an option to take a shuttle over the Portsmouth bridge if any riders want to continue north. The shuttle can accommodate 7 bikes.

UPDATE FROM DONNA: I found the coastal route! The highway route is only 9 miles but the coastal route is 13.8 miles to breakfast. So 12 mile loop + 27.6 miles to breakfast = 39.6 miles without crossing the bridge. I think it is 10 miles to Nubble Light so that would be another 20 miles. Total 59.6. All estimates. (

Late lunch at Flatbread Pizza in Amesbury, MA after the ride.

Is anyone planning on riding inNH this Saturday?

Sorry. Can't ride until the 28th. Hoping my hand will have healed by then. :( I asked Will if he wanted to go and he said he'd rather stay local so he can get together with friends that afternoon. They were talking about hanging out at the Beach Club.

Thanks for a response Tam. Did Will ride this morning? I was on the fence with the dampness then opted out since I had a dog to walk and lots to do.

Do you want to postpone the 20th until next year? I'm sure your mind is on your donor treatment starting to proceed the next day. Might be better to just chill out on Saturday with a ride close to home so you have the afternoon free to relax?? (PS Will joined me qt the gym yesterday on the bikes. Kept me company.
