With love to Manny

Our love and prayers go to Manny and his family as his battle with lymphoma comes to an end. While the radiation treatment he received for his eyes was successful, doctors inform him that the cancer has spread to his bone marrow and there is very little hope. Thoughts and well wishes would be most welcome -- 10 Crowninshield St. #208, Peabody, MA 01960 or manny.marques@live.com. It is very difficult to write this -- our hearts are heavy -- but he wants all to know what's going on and sends his love.

Hi Sheldon -- I visited Manny today (Thursday), and he was very happy for the visit. Two of his friends (Jane and Jackie, who you've met) also stopped by while I was there. He seemed very well considering the circumstances. It was really nice to see him and chat for a while. He did tell me that he will be discharged tomorrow, Friday, and will be home for the weekend.

Oh my. Manny. I hope you are doing well. I'm so sad. This is crazy news. I enjoyed so much riding with you and the group. Hang tough. I'll think about you when I ride for a brain tumor survivor who has a ride out of Danvers this Sunday. You can go to www.gratefulnation.org/areasontoride/ to learn more. Be well.
