Pre-Thanksgiving Ride

Get on your flannels and ride this weekend! It's going to be a little nippy at the start, but Dave is hoping a few folks will join him for a breakfast ride on Saturday. Get in your miles this weekend and enjoy that extra piece of pie on Thursday!

I hate to bear bad news, but I'll be out of commission for a little bit.

On Sunday, I was the unfortunate victim of an older driver that didn't see me, and hit me while riding in Carlisle with Team Quad.

I'm okay, no broken bones, concussions neck or back issues. Mostly scrapes, cuts and bruises. Left knee has cuts/bruises. Road rash on left hip. Elbow took the brunt of the fall. My left shoulder is strained and I have sharp pain with arm extended and above shoulder-level. Going back to doctor to review the shoulder issue. I will live.

I won't divulge any more than this, due to my having hired counsel to take on my case.

Have fun on Saturday - from all reports, you should have a sunny day, and I'll pray for some warmer temps (50's and up) for you all!

Take care,

Lynda

I hope you're on the mend and get back on the bike soon. It sounds AWFUL and I'm glad you have some legal help. Take care of yourself and GET WELL,

Lynda,

Hope you recover soon. Were you riding the new bike? How did it fair in all of this? (Bikes can be replaced, body parts cannot).

Lynda, we wish you a refuah shlayma, a speedy recovery. Love, Sheldon and Fran By the way, I think I'd like to ride this Sat.

Thanks for the well-wishes. I was riding the Soma, and thank goodness it wasn't the Scott (carbon fiber and crashes don't mix very well). So "Anita" is up at Quad and they have provided me with an estimate of damaged parts. The frame was totally un-touched, thank goodness! Shifters and any external parts on the left side (like pedal, QR skewers) are scraped badly. Have to go and take pix today.

Bumping this up so that folks know there is a ride tomorrow.

Lynda, hope you're feeling better. (Happy to hear the bike will be ok too.)

Just wanted to report that we did have a small ride today. Joining me were Sheldon, Gail, Joan and Paul. Ed met us at the cleaners (on 4 wheels, not 2). We all proceeded to Henderson's followed by a loop through Bradley Palmer. Paul and Joan went to Salem cycle for supplies, but Gail, Sheldon and I made it back to the statue.

If the weather is good, we'll try again next week.
