Weekend Forecast

Brrrr..... It's chilly!! Autumn is definitely upon us -- time to break out the warmer gear if you haven't done so already! It looks like rain is headed our way for the weekend, likely canceling our ride. Stay warm and dry!

This week was cold. On Wednesday I used my wool top for the first time this season (at least on the way into the office).

Although there were some splotches on the radar, it wasn't raining when I got up this morning. As I was getting dressed, it started to sprinkle a bit. As I was mostly dressed, I decided to ride anyway, but I didn't bother to go the bus stop this morning. It was raining hard well before 7 AM, so I was sure that the ride would be canceled.

Instead, I went down to Nahant circle and around through Lynn. I was out for about an hour, and it was raining pretty hard at times.

Hope to see you all next week.

BTW, how long do the breakfast rides continue? The online calendar shows rides through early November, but then again, it also shows a start time of 6:30 AM. I'm planning to order snow tires for the commuter bike, so I'll be out there regardless.

It was an amazing day of rain, mud, and cyclocross racing in Gloucester.

Maietta Bicycles was making waffles in their tent and I can assure you a hot waffle covered in Nutella is the perfect recovery food after 45 minutes of cyclocross racing in those conditions.

I am not sure which had more of a mud coating after the race, me or the bike.

But it was fun.

Hopefully some of you got up to Gloucester on Sunday to check out some pretty intense racing.

I am hoping to get at least one more breakfast ride in with you guys before the seasons ends.
