Ride Calendar 2009

Get out your calendar! As registration continues for the 2009 Pan Mass Challenge, (have you registered yet?), other notable rides have established their dates!

The Audi Best Buddies Challenge is first out of the block on May 30th. (Join Carl in this great ride on the Cape!) The MS Society's Cape Cod Getaway is next on June 27 & 28. (Arlene, Anne, and Mike K. (Sr. and Jr.) participate in this). The CRW's Climb to the Clouds will be on Sunday, July 19th. (Lisa, Brian B., Lynda and Brian C. are champs at this one.)

The Lobster Ride and Roll (and Lynda) head down the Maine coast on July 25th; While Steve-Bob leads the Emmaus House Cycle for Shelter the next day, July 26th.

Tam is on tap to ride the Harpoon Point to Point for the Vermont Foodbank on August 15th. Join her for this great ride through the mountains -- though if you really want mountains, join Bruce two weeks earlier on August 1st for this year's Copper Triangle Classic in Colorado. (Benefiting the Davis Phinney Foundation). This will be Bruce's second year riding in the high altitude. More dates posted as they come in!

Let me extend my annual invitation to all Cyclopaths to join me on May 30th for the 10th Annual Hyannis Port Challenge.

There are more options this year:
You can still do 100 miles from the JFK Library to Craigsville Beach
You can still do 20 miles from Sandwich to the Beach
You can now do 50 miles from Carver to the Beach
You can run 5K or walk 3K under the guidance of the great Carl Lewis at the Beach

Tom Brady will return with a bunch of his team mates.

There will be a clam bake with lobster and open bar.

The Bangles (I am told this is an all-female group from the 80's) will perform.

There will be free transportation back to Boston or wherever you left your car that night or the next morning if you decide to stay over.

I can offer you the fund raising special available to my Team Seyfarth Shaw (already 94 strong), $1,250 with no registration fee.

Audi is covering ALL costs of the event, so every dollar you raise goes to provide friendship and/or a job for an intellectually challenged person.

Let me know and I'll help you get registered.

The second annual Bay Road Bikes Pedal for Parkinson's is tentatively schedule for July 12 in Hamilton, MA.

Lisa and Brian joined me last year for a fun ride (I think they had fun even with taking a wrong turn), a BBQ, and a raffle, all to benefit the Davis Phinney Foundation and it's efforts to improve the quality of life foe those afflicted with Parkinson's Disease.

BTW, thanks for mentioning the Copper Triangle. As I have said on many occasions, it was a GREAT ride and lots of fun. People can contact me for more information if they are interested in joining me and 2999 other folks that day.

Reid's Ride date is Sat July 18th, the same date as Climb To The Clouds.

Tammy, I will be on board for the Point-To-Point this year.

Tam Cronin said...

Awesome, Lynda! It's really a great ride for a very needy organization -- Especially in these tough economic times. I'm so happy you'll be riding!!

I think there is a conflict with the 350K brevet... Have you checked decided not to ride that this year?

Lynda said...

The 350k is indeed on the same day, but, after riding the 600k the last weekend in July, I think that I can "take a break" from the 350. It is the only one in the series that doesn't have a medal or qualifier attached to it, so it is "just for fun." And I've wanted to ride the Harpoon event for a couple of years now, so PtoP is on! yes, I'm so excited to be a part of it!

Register by Feb 15 and you get a pair of Harpoon cycling socks!
