Weekend Plans

Another busy weekend ahead, with 2 cycling events coming up -- the GSW Seacoast Century on Saturday and the City of Boston's Hub on Wheels on Sunday! (Who's riding this year?) Drew's Myopia tailgating party also takes place this Sunday -- Send her an RSVP if you can make it!

CRW's Fall Century happens this weekend as well, on Sunday.

Are you riding the Fall Century? HOW WAS THE POST-HANNA FLATTEST CENTURY?

Yes, I am riding both the GSW Seacoast Century on Sat, and CRW Fall Century on Sunday.

TFCE was quite windy! It was a nice area to bike in, with lots of farmland and coastline. It was hardly flat (had rolling hills, but we knew that already), and the road surface was primarily chip-seal/pea gravel/tar, which really provided the one challenge: rolling resistance! It was really tough to keep a good pace on that type of surface!

I was not impressed by the water at the water stops - they use water tanker-trucks, and the water tasted very off. That alone will prevent me from riding it again in the future. The water has to taste good if folks are going to want to drink it for hydration.

Equally not impressed with the cookout at the end - you had to shell out $$ to eat! I did not, opting for more of the same water stop fruit and very little of the dang-awful water!

I'm looking forward to the back to back centuries this weekend! Anyone else other than Ethan riding either one?

I'm riding the 50 mile route at Hub on Wheels with some folks from the 4C's and some other folks from the Serotta on-line Forum.

Look for the blue kits with the crash test targets in the group.

We are meeting at 7:00 AM near the pavillion along Charles Street if you want to join us or just say "Hi".
