Slow Week

No news or cycling items to report. Did everyone like that heat wave?? I heard a rumor that Ellen and Cape Cod Mike may be joining us this Saturday for the first time since moving north! Donna predicts that CCM will be itching to go to Mad Martha's. (Nooo... too soon!)

Just a quick note: Yoga on the Beach will now begin at 8:30 am on Sundays, beginning this week at Devereaux Beach. (Getting an earlier start.) Join Larisa, Donna, Arlene and Brenda on the beach! (Check the Classifieds for complete details.)

PS -- I'll get a few pics up soon. Busy week with the kids, wrapping up the Art Festival misc., end-of-school activities, etc... Also, I lost my camera for a few days -- just finally found it under the passenger seat of my car. (How did it get there??)

Bruce, I'll get back to you on the breakfast route for this Saturday. Sent your inquiry to Donna. I don't decide these things. :-) We need a medium route for the short ride and a long route for the B group -- would be nice if we all had breakfast together and the long riders headed out after breakfast, but I gave up on that last year.

Also, check out the latest profiles!! I've recently added Sam, Av, and Steve-Bob's. Still waiting for others...

I had to ride in that heat on Tues afternoon to get back from work - it was not fun! 12 miles filled with the feeling that my face was on fire. Stopping at traffic signals was the worst part of the trip - my face REALLY felt like it would ignite! I'd still rather endure that than, say, a snowstorm...

If CCM truly wants to go to Mad Martha's, I'd be more than happy to oblige with an, "I second the motion!" It'd be a beautiful day to ride there.

NO MAD MARTHA'S It was a joke.

I would also like to ride to Mad Martha's if folks are up for it! I hear CCM is a real speedster these days. He will probaly make it to Mad Martha's in an hour! Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day. I'm looking forward to the ride! Brian and I rode 40 miles on Martha's Vineyard last Saturday. Even with a 20lb pack on his back, he was faster! Imagine that?!

I give up. It was a joke. Perhaps I should be careful about what I write in the future.

ok, I'm not laughing at the joke! I'm just hoping to make it past Beverly!

See you tomorrow :)

Actually, it was far from a slow week.

The unofficial "Cyclopaths Race Team" aka Wally and I both rode the ECV Time Trial on Wednesday.

Wally aquitted himself quite well for a first timer on a regular road bike.

I think he had fun too!

I set my second PR in 2 rides for this year.

Lynda, you should come give it a whirl if you can get to Hamilton HS by 5:00PM on the 25th.

Trying to work out tomorrow but I hear Annisquam is the possible destination and I don't think that will work for me mileage-wise.

No really... I was joking about Mad Martha's!! 'cause that's where CCM always wants to go!! :-)

I'm very stressed out this week. It's been crazy. I think I'm losing my mind.

LOL about Mad Martha's.
Sounds like destination unknown for tomorrow..... I'd like to do a 40-50 miler (AT A SOCIAL PACE!).

LOL - I hear ya Tam! I have to say, your first post didn't reflect the humor you speak of. Of course CCM wants to go to MM's - who doesn't? They ROCK! :o)

Bruce,

Any events that take place during the week are really difficult for me to get to (time-wise and energy-wise), hefting print-house paper all day makes for a workout all its' own!). But, if there's ever anything like that taking place on the weekends, let me know - I could get into the TT thing - uh-oh, another bike?? ;) hehe!

Tammy I agree Mad Martha's is perfect for tomorrow! I am so Glad you brought it up!!! ;) I did not want to mention it for fear that it was to early in the season for most but if YOUR ready lets do it!!! Okay then I woke up and realized it was a dream and you really want to go to the Meany Toast!!!! LOL I will be happy to break bread with the group and then go long as I firmly beleave in tradition and I can't wait to see everybody! It is hard to ride long after a meal but that is what should and will happen with me! Anybody up for a longer ride after "the Cyclopath breakfast" please let me know...

Mike;

I've got a TT bike. I e-mailed a picture.

It's a HED V04 aero frame full-on TT bike with a disc rear wheel, tri-balde front, HED aerobars with s-bend extensions.

Fun to race but not much fun to ride otherwise.

My weekday pals Rob and Judy and I are off to Mad Martha's in the AM, leaving Hamilton at 7:00. Maybe we'll see you guys on the road.

That's one way to get to Mad Martha's. Start in Hamilton! ; )

Bruce K said...

Yup.

With the detours and side roads we took it ended up being 52 miles at a 17.1 average.

A truly GOURGEOUS day.

I hope you guys had a nice ride too.

If it doesn't rain tomorrow it's off to the CRW ride for 65 miles (ARGH).
