Second Annual Sea Glass Ride

The Second Annual Sue's Sea Glass Ride was spectacular! Ethan, Larissa and their fabulous friends did an amazing job with organizing and supporting the ride. There were a few road mix-ups (for riders unfamiliar with the route), and a mechanical problem or two, but otherwise the ride went very well for Ethan's second attempt at channeling Billy Starr. Thank you, Ethan!

What a perfect way to honor and remember Sue -- with friends and family, amazing weather (two years in a row!), and a great ride to Gloucester! Pics are posted on a separate page -- Click here to view! (Sorry I did not get everyone!!) -- Tammy

PS - Send Ethan a donation to the Sue de Vries Cancer Foundation and he'll give you a great shirt commemorating the ride, whether you rode or not!

It was fun to see the incomparable Bill Cantor, chief Cyclopath, at the start of the event, joining us for the quick ride to Sue's house. Sheldon, we missed you! Hope you enjoyed your trip! Great to see a few MIA Cyclopaths at the event (Queen Kathy and Patty P.), as well as a few Cyclopaths who didn't know Sue, (Anne, Lynda, Robin, Arlene and Pete). Thanks for joining us and honoring our friend.

On a personal note, I thought of Sue often during the morning, especially as we passed Manchester and started hitting some of the hills en route to Gloucester. She coached me up a few of those hills when I first started riding with the Cyclopaths. Thanks again, Ethan, for a great tribute to Sue. -- Tam

Ethan, you worked hard to put this together, and I want you to know that we all certainly appreciated it. Thank you for organzing this!

I wish that I had known Sue. All I can do is remember her through all of your fond memories of her, and help the cause out. I did feel a prescence during the ride, and I'm sure that it was Sue riding right along with us and having a great time.

Thanks to Ethan and Larissa for all their hard work, planning, shopping.... And "Sue's Crew"- Andrea, Judy, Eileen & Judy.
It was a very nice tribute to Sue. I have fond memories of pedaling up to Gloucester with Sue. Or should I say, riding behind her. She was strong! Many times Sue rode one way and met up with her family and took the boat home.
7/7/07 was a beautiful day and a good ride shared with good friends old & new.

Ethan and the gang did a great job with this very special event.

I miss Sue. Her smile, her enthusiasm, her determination, her heart. Every time I see her sister riding her bike I get a little choked up.

It is important that we never forget her.

Thanks Ethan. You are helping to keep her memory alive.
