Manchester/Gloucester/Annisquam

June 30, 2007. A beautiful day. Temps in the 70s, sunny, and no humidity. A big relief from the heat wave we experienced during the week. We set out on Rt 127 to Gloucester. Av & Alan R. stopped and had breakfast at Beach Street Cafe -- the rest continued on. We all ate together at Morning Glory, (at it's new location!), right across the street from the beach at the monument. The waitresses were very welcoming, as usual, and a few Cyclopaths ate outside on the porch enjoying an ocean front view. After breakfast the group split, with one group ( Sheldon, Grandpa-Michael K., Paul, Gail, Robin, Arlene, Ducky, Drew, and Wally) heading home; while Steve-Bob, Lisa, Lynda, Pete, Cape Cod Mike and Donna) continued around Annisquam.

It was a great day to ride. We enjoyed the sights and cool ocean breeze as we pedaled around Annisquam -- stopping for a Kodak moment at Motif #1 in Rockport, and enjoying the ride across the wooden bridge with harbor views in Annisquam. The rotary was a challenge but my magic arm pulled through and we survived. We did have to wait for the Gloucester bridge on the return. And we lost Pete as he did not know to stop and regroup at the Manchester-by-the-Sea "fountain of youth" -- though we met up with him at Roger Conant in Salem. 54 miles. And a great time shared with friends.

Wally didn't tell the truth about heading home !! 8^)

I saw him riding solo out on 133 heading for Essex.

Looking forward to seeing you all at Sue's Sea Glass Ride.

It was truly a gorgeous day to ride! We saw some huge bluefish at Rockport! What a blessing it is to ride in such a picturesqe area. Love it! And to enjoy it with the nicest folks, well, it's just nirvana. Thanks for a great ride.
