The H.H. Hamberguer - Bradley Palmer Invitational

A report from Gail. Thanks Gail!

I hope the Tri-State Cohen Classic was a smashing success! You certainly had a fabulous day. Hope it was fun.

Just for the record, the Essex County spin-off of your esteemed ride was launched yesterday (you can figure out the event name looking at the last names of the participants). Ducky Higgins, Dave Henry, Av Hammer, Paul Guertin, and yours truly left Salem at 6:30 am for a 35-mile round-trip to Boxford and Bradley Palmer. Unfortunately, Dave had to leave us at the Beverly dry cleaners stop, due to a broken spoke. The rest of us enjoyed a delightful ride (thanks to the navigational instincts of Av, who steered us through the back roads of Boxford without getting lost). After breakfast in Boxford (where Av once again reminisced with Jane, the owner of Wayne’s, about their wild Caribbean cruise and Paul regaled us with his latest stories), we cycled through Bradley Palmer and back to Salem. Ducky, who stayed the course despite a back problem, left Av, Paul, and I in Beverly. Upon our stunning team finish, we returned to our respective events of the day including (but not limited to) home repair projects, sailing arrangements, and the new Harry Potter book. That’s the report from our single county event! --Gail
