January Updates

Hello Cyclopaths! Finally back to the blog after a bit of a break. (As you can understand, there has been less to blog these days as we haven't been riding.) Hope all of you have been keeping warm this winter!

Bike Racks
Councilor Mike has been out riding the streets of Peabody and Salem these last few weeks, taking advantage of the great weather we've had. (I've passed him several times in my car.) As many of you know, Mike has been working with Salem Cycle to install bike racks at a few locations in Salem. Carl has been collecting funds to contribute to this endeavour on behalf of the Cyclopaths. If you wish to contribute to this bike-friendly initiative, please contact Mike Bencal or Carl King ASAP! It's a great idea worthy of our support!

Cyclopaths of Note
Our founding four, Av, Sheldon, Bill and Sam, are featured in the PMC Yearbook published earlier this month. (Great story of Sheldon and his grandchildren participating in the PMC together.) The PMC website also has a video of our fearless four's comments made during the PMC Check Presentaion this fall!! If you missed the event, you can catch their amusing musings at www.pmc.org (videos) or simply Click Here! (Note: The clip is approximately 20 minutes long and streams from the PMC website. Highspeed internet access is recommended.)

Jerseys
Bruce's Cyclopath jersey venture hasn't faded. Several designs will be available to ponder over soon. Drew and Bruce (and possibly Carl?) have checked on prices and vendors and Donna and I are working on several designs, trying to incorporate the many ideas that have been forwarded via email. It's not too late to get your ideas included! Email Donna or Tammy with your thoughts. We will presents ideas and info at a breakfast get-together soon!

PMC Registration and More
Pan Mass Challenge registration is ongoing. Several routes are nearing capacity and already the ferry transportaion and on campus housing is full. If you are planning to ride and haven't registered yet, it might be wise to get on it.

Also of note, the Volvo Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port ride has begun their registration process for their May 20th event, and the 22nd MS Great Mass Getaway, scheduled for June 24th & 25th, has registration ongoing. (Click on the linked ride titles for more information.)

With any luck, we'll have a warmer spring than last year and we'll be out riding together soon.

Everyone stay warm! -- Tammy
